Special Directions for Short Season Climates
SOWING: Seed directly into the vegetable garden when soil is workable. from March to September. Cover seeds with 1/4 inch of light soil.
SPACING: Leave 12 inches between rows. In small areas grow radishes in solid beds, spacing plants 2 inches apart in all directions.
THINNING: When plants are 1 to 2 inches high, thin to approximately 2 inches apart.
GERMINATION: Approximately 5 to 7 days.
Ed's Special Advice
Treat soil with safe insecticide to protect crop from infestations of root insects. Continue to sow short rows of seeds every few weeks for continual harvest. Plenty of moisture is needed to keep radishes sweet, crisp and tender.
