Uniform deep orange, coreless roots are smooth, moderately tapered, five to seven inches long. excellent yield, ideal for dicing, canning, and freezing, we are really impressed with this variety. 70 days till maturity.
Special Directions for Short Season Climates
SOWING: Seed directly into vegetable garden as soon as soil is workable. Cover seeds with 1/8 inch soil.
THINNING: When plants are 2-4 inches tall, thin to 2 to 3 inches apart.
SPACING: Rows can be spaced 15-18 inches apart, or much closer if limited for space. In beds space 2-4 inches apart in all directions.
GERMINATION: 2 weeks in temperatures of 60 degrees. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed's Special Advice
Plant at 2 or 3 week intervals for continual harvest. Planting can continue until mid-July. Carrots grow best in a sunny location with rich, light soil and regular thorough waterings. For best results fertilize and cultivate soil prior to planting to a depth of 6 to 8 inches.
