Alaska Nasturtium

NASTURTIUM Alaska (dwarf single flowering)

Annual - One Season Plant Height: 16-18 inches

Colorful, easy to grow, low plant with distinctive variegated foliage. Ideal for massing, borders or for spot color. Does well in cool weather. Excellent cut flowers for small arrangements. Flowers are held above foliage and bloom over an extended period.

Special Directions for Short Season Climates

SOWING: Sow directly outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Cover seeds with 1/4 inch fine soil.

SPACING: Plant seeds approximately 6 inches apart for mass effect.

GERMINATION: Approximately 10 days in 65 weather. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Ed's Special Advice

Thrives in poor soil. Needs no fertilizer and very little water. Enriched soil tends to promote more foliage than flowers. Can be grown in full sun or partially shaded areas. As attractive for its foliage as it is for its bright single flowers.
