CUCUMBER Tall Telegraph Improved
Produces a prolific crop of long, smooth cucumbers that stay crisp and mild even 10 to 14 inches long. Can be grown on the ground or trellis outdoors or in the greenhouse through the winter. Approximately 62 days to maturity.
Special Directions for Short Season ClimatesSOWING: For earlier plants, start indoors in pots. Or seed directly into sunny garden area after danger of frost has passed. Cover with 1/4 inch of soil.
SPACING: In rows leave 8 to 12 inches between plants; space rows 3 feet apart. Or place 6 to 8 seeds in hills that are spaced 4 to 5 feet apart.
GERMINATION: Approximately one week in 70 degree F temperature; longer in cooler weather. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed's Special Advice
Rich well drained soil is ideal for cucumbers. Processed manure or compost are excellent soil additives. Water deep and feed every 3 weeks. Can be grown on trellis or fence for support. Pick fruit carefully and regularly for continued harvest.
