Brilliant late spring to early summer color. These old-time favorite flowers work well in beds and borders, as well as in pots, or the rock garden. Delightful for its fragrance and rich colors in bouquets.

Special Directions for Short Season Climates

SOWING: Sow seed directly outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. For earlier blossoms start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before setting out. Cover seeds with 1/8" of fine soil firmed down.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Thin or transplant seedlings to 1 foot apart outdoors.

GERMINATION: One to two weeks at 70'F. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Ed's Special Advice

May bloom first year if started early enough. Will grow well in full sun to light shade in fairly rich well drained soil kept somewhat moist. For bushier plants pinch above set of leaves when 4 inches tall.
