TOMATO Sweetie Top-notch new cherry-sized tomato. Sweet-tasting. Grows exceptionally well in the home garden. Ideal for eating fresh, salads, relishes and canning. Prolific producer. Approx. 70 days. Special Directions For Short Season Climates SOWING: Start seeds indoors in late winter through early spring in pots, trays or flats. Cover seed with 1/8 inch soil. Plant seeds in sterilized, fertile soil. Water with warm water. Provide plenty of light for young seedlings. THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are about 2 inches tall, thin or individually pot indoor seedlings 3 inches apart. Plant outdoors in late spring after all danger of frost has passed and weather has warmed considerably. SPACING: Leave 2 to 3 feet between plants. GERMINATION: One to two weeks in the home at 70 F. Ed's Special Advice Plant in full sun. If possible, plant against a south or west wall or fence, where reflected sun will provide additional heat. Black plastic at base of plants or a tire placed on the soil around each plant also will provide heat for earlier ripening. For canning, add citric acid with this variety.
