A nice color contrast on relish trays and in salads. Approximately 25 days to maturity. Special Directions for Short Season Climates SOWING: Seed directly into the vegetable garden anytime soil is workable from early spring through early tall. Cover seeds with 1/4 inch light soil, spacing seeds 1 to 1 1/2 inches apart. THINNING & SPACING: Once seedlings are established thin to 1 1/2 to 2 inches apart. Leave 6 to 12 inches between rows or plant in beds 2 inches apart in all directions. GERMINATION: Approximately one week. Keep soil moderately moist during germination. Ed's Special Advice Treat soil with safe insecticide to protect from root insects, or sow seed where radishes or cabbage had not been grown the previous year. Protect seedbed from new infestation with cheese cloth or agricultural netting strung above plants. Sow seeds every 2 or 3 weeks for continual harvest. Radishes grow best during the cooler parts of the growing season. Plant in a mostly sunny spot in moderately rich soil kept fairly well watered.
