Special Directions For Short Season Climates

SOWING: Sow directly into the garden as soon as soil is workable in early spring. For continual harvest make successive plantings at 3 week intervals until mid spring. Sow seeds 2 inches apart in rows. Cover with 1 to 1 1/2 inches of fine soil firmed down.

SPACING: Leave 2 to 2 1/2 feet between rows; slightly closer if limited for space. Can be grown in wide rows sowing seeds 2 inches apart in all directions.

GERMINATION: Completely dependent upon outdoor temperatures and soil warmth. Usually 1 to 2 weeks.

Ed's Special Advice

Pods should be eaten young and rather immature. Sow for fall crop in mid to late July. For best cooking results stir-fry or steam for about a minute.
