ENDIVE Frisee Fine Curled 
A
finely cut, lacy leaved endive. It is used in gourmet salad blends,
both for its texture and appearance. It is cold hardy and best grown
for early or late crops. Approx. 60 days to maturity.
Special Directions For Short Season Climates
SOWING: Sow seed directly outdoors in early spring. Can also be sown
mid to late summer for fall, winter and spring use. Cover seed with 1/8 inch
fine soil firmed down.
SPACING AND THINNING: Space rows at least 18 inches apart, thin to
12 inches apart in rows.
GERMINATION: 2 to 3 weeks depending upon soil and weather conditions.
Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed's Special Advice
Endive
benefits from well cultivated enriched soil. The entire plant can be
harvested at once or the outer leaves can be used as needed. When plant
nears maturity outer leaves can be gathered up and tied loosely over
center of plant for blanching. Keep well watered during heat of summer.
Protect from heavy rains in winter.
