A high yielding prolific pickler. It is a gynecious type with mostly female flowers. It has male pollinator seed added, so don't overthin seedlings, to help ensure setting fruit. The cucumbers are medium green, blocky with white spines. Approximately 56 days to maturity.

Special Directions for Short Season Climates

SOWING: : Start in pots indoors or seed directly into sunny garden area after all danger of frost has passed. Cover seeds with 1/4 inch fine soil.

THINNING AND SPACING:
Leave 8 inches between plants. Space in rows 3 feet apart or place 6 to 8 seeds in hills that are spaced 4 to 5 feet apart.

GERMINATION:  
Approximately one week in 70°F temperatures, longer in cooler weather. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Ed's Special Advice

Rich, well-drained soil is ideal for cucumbers. Processed manure or compost are excellent soil additives. Water deep and feed every 3 weeks. Pick fruit regularly when young pickle size for best flavor, texture and continued harvest. Can be grown on fence or trellis for support.
