CARROT lmperator Sorry, crop failure. Popular variety for home gardens. Ideal vegetable for eating fresh or cooked. Nice to use in salads, soups, stews or as a garnish. Approximately 75 days till maturity. Special Directions for Short Season Climates SOWING: Seed directly into vegetable garden as soon as soil is workable. Cover seeds with 1/8 inch fine soil. THINNING: When plants are 2-4 inches tall, thin to 2 to 3 inches apart. SPACING: Rows can be spaced 15-18 inches apart, or much closer if limited for space. In beds 2-4 inches apart in all directions. GERMINATION: 2 weeks in temperature of 60 degrees F. Keep soil moderately moist during germination. Ed's Special Advice Plant at 2 or 3 week intervals for continual harvest. Planting can continue until mid-July. Carrots grow best in a sunny location with rich light soil and regular thorough watering. For best results, fertilize and cultivate soil prior to planting to a depth of 12 inches.
